Cross-linking under the sign of Innovation
Research Studios Austria participate in various calls of the European Commission and are represented in the following projecsts:
| Projectname | Short description | Duration |
| Genesis | GENESIS project will provide environment and health actors with a web-based solution combining open, collaborative information networks with the integration of existing systems. Relying on global standards and developed in conjunction with EU harmonization initiatives (e.g. INSPIRE) the developed framework will be thematic-neutral and validated through real use-case scenarios in air quality, fresh & coastal water quality domains and their impacts on health. Made of a generic software package; this framework provides the interoperability layer to existing information systems, so they can access environmental databases or services available at regional, national or European levels. GENESIS represents an important step in operational environmental management in Europe thus paving the way to an effective wide deployment of the solution. | September 2008 - August 2010 |
| REACCESS | REACCESS (Risk of Energy Availability: Common Corridors for Europe Supply Security) is aimed to show future streams of energy for the coverage of the European energy demand. The development of the European energy system is updated by methods of Energy system modelling. | January 2008 - January 2011 |
| Bridge2Geo | Bridge2Geo is a support action within the program "regions of knowledge" which lasts for 2 years; the aim of the project is to link the knowledge and innovation regions Salzburg and North Rhine-Westphalia with special regard to GIS and geoinformatics. In the main focus lies the strategy to extend the GIS research as well as the integration in the economical clusters of the two regions. | January 2008 - December 2009 |
| TELplus | TELplus is a further step to develop further the services of the "European Library" and to simplify the access and the use of the content provided by various national libraries. | October 2007 - September 2009 |
| RASCALLI | The project RASCALLI aims at the development of responsive artificial situated cognitive agents that live and learn on the Internet (Rascalli). Rascalli represent a growing class of cooperative agents that do not have a physical presence, but nevertheless are equipped with major ingredients of cognition including situated correlates of physical embodiment to become adaptive, cooperative and self improving in a certain environment (Internet) given certain tasks. | January 2006 - December 2008 |
| mGBL | Within the mobile Game-Based Learning project (mGBL) eleven partner organisations from Austria, Croatia, Great Britain, Italy, and Slovenia have joined forces to work on the development of a platform for the presentation of educational content in a playful and emotional way on mobile devices. The biggest challenge is to engage a diversity of audiences in the fields of career guidance, e-Health and e-Commerce in to the development of decision-making skills for use in critical situations. Building on the latest innovations in the field of m-learning (mobile learning) and on the latest research results from the field of didactics, new approaches to game-based learning are developed for use on mobile phones. | October 2005 - October 2008 |
