PLASS – Platform for Analytical Supply Chain Management Services

01.09.2019 – 31.08.2022

The central goal of the PLASS project is the development of a prototypical B2B platform for AI-based
Decision support in supply chain management through automatic recognition of relevant
Information and extraction of explicit knowledge from global, unstructured text sources.
PLASS will enable small, medium or large companies to continuously monitor
their suppliers and supply chains and supports the supply chain manager in estimating
Risks at the time of decision making.

While the central goal of the project is to gain relevant knowledge for the supply chain
the RSA Data Science is responsible for the following subgoals:

– Relationship extraction: Identification of predefined relationships between entities. Entities
can be e.g. companies, products etc. The relationship can be for example
consumed, CompanyUsesProduct, CompanyOffersProduct, etc.; but also Event
such as relationships like CompanyTurnover.
– Trust measurement: automatic relationship extraction is only sufficient for
Decision-making at market level when their confidence is quantified. RSA Data Science will
to (i) assign a level of trust to the extracted relationships and (ii) define
Trust thresholds to be taken into account in the decision-making process.
– To address the problem of limiting the available basic truth, RSA Data Science
Use of state-of-the-art technologies to improve model generalization and
Effects of the lack of annotated data.
– The combination of the services of the SCM B2B platform with other technologies through
Integration as micro services in combination with other platforms, e.g. DMA
