Dr. Markus Biberacher

Key Researcher Smart Energy Balances

Biberacher’s research competencies lie in the modeling of regional and global energy systems, especially considering geographical sensitivities. Experience with relevant modeling tools as well as development of own applications. Special research interest is the coupling of methods in geoinformatics with classical approaches of energy system modeling.

Markus Biberacher studied physics at the University of Augsburg. He completed his PhD in 2004 on the modeling of spatially resolved energy systems at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching near Munich.  This was followed by a project-related research stay at the Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas, Medioambientales y Tecnológicas (CIEMAT) in Madrid.
