We will be pleased if one of these three options is of interest to you!

Financial support for research-oriented studies

Scholarship Holder (f/m/d)

During your studies you are working on a topic/field of interest for one of our Research Studios; you want to coordinate the content and/or methodology of your topic with the Research Studio. We will support you with a financing of 500,– to 600,– Euro/month (non-taxable research grant).

Research Career Scholarship

You want to do an apprenticeship year in applied R&D with coaching plus additional training, while also working on your project that is thematically and/or methodologically relevant to a research studio. We will support you with financing of 1.000,– to 1.600,– Euro/month (non-taxable research grant).

Entry into collaboration in applied research

Trainee (incl. mandatory internship, f/m/d)

You want to gain professional experience in applied R&D and digital intelligence; at least 4-8 weeks, full participation in a project with a final task, payment between 600,- and 800,– Euro/month.

Diploma Student
(Master, f/m/d)

During your studies, you want to work on a project for 2-3 days/week and use the project insights in your thesis. Payment between 600 and 1.000,– Euro/month.

Dissertation (PhD/PraeDoc, f/m/d)

During your studies you want to work on a project or a project chain for 2 – 3 days/week and use your project work and project publications for your dissertation, 25-30 h/week of project work, payment between 1.500,– and 1.900,– Euro or, if you have the appropriate qualification, PraeDoc according to FWF rates.

Junior Researcher (w/m/d)

Full-time employment, unlimited contract, project collaboration, team integration, payment: 2.100,- to 2.650,- Euro.

Researcher/Research Scientist (f/m/d)

Full-time employment, unlimited contract, independent project work, work package management, small projects; Payment: 2.650,– to 3.300,– Euro.

Senior Researcher (f/m/d)

Full-time employment, unlimited contract, project management, management of large contract and EU projects including application and acquisition; payment: 3.200,– to 4.200,– Euro, option on additional performance contract.

At Research Studios Austria Forschungsgesellschaft, we work to bring innovations in the field of digital intelligence from Austria’s universities to the market. We are looking for employees who will work with us to successfully implement research services for companies and society.

Our research studios focus on developing products and services for which time-to-market is a decisive economic factor. Rapid prototyping is of central importance to us in order to realise innovative ideas quickly. Research Studios Austria Forschungsgesellschaft mbH is the organisation behind a network of Research Studios. These are flexible, university-affiliated, business-orientated research and development units.

We are looking for an employee to strengthen our RSA team in Salzburg for the following position

Science Communication and Organisation – (all genders)

Full time or part time, Salzburg

We are looking for creative people who are enthusiastic about working independently, have strong research skills and are able to transform complex issues into engaging texts. You also have graphic design skills and know how to target the content produced to the right target groups both in print media and online – i.e. on websites, social media and in press releases. You are not afraid of administrative tasks, are willing to travel and be present on site in our studios in Salzburg, St. Pölten and Vienna.

Your role extends both within the dedicated RSA team and in close collaboration with our researchers in the Research Studios. You will be an integral part of the dissemination activities of national and international research projects and actively contribute to communicating the knowledge gained. You will be in close contact with the management and act as an important interface between our studios, media representatives, customers and partners.

Your responsibilities

  • Science communication: You use your skills to translate complex scientific concepts into understandable and captivating messages to inspire the general public with our research work. You will design and be responsible for the communication strategy.
  • Content creation: You communicate via various social media platforms, are responsible for press releases and their graphic design and manage the RSA website.
  • Networking: You maintain and develop our relationships with media representatives, stakeholders and other interest groups in order to increase the presence of the RSA FG in the media.
  • Event organisation: You will plan and coordinate events and workshops to present our research activities and promote dialogue between researchers, decision-makers and the public.

Your qualifications

  • Degree (or near-degree) in a relevant university degree programme (such as journalism, marketing, communication science, …)
  • Professional experience in science communication, public relations or graphic design
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
  • Relevant experience with WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Google Analytics, etc. an advantage
  • Content-related interest in innovation, research and development
  • Passion for communication, teamwork and continuous learning

Internship – (all genders)

8-12 weeks, Vienna

Your tasks:

You will develop applications at the intersection of Data Science, AI, and Machine-Learning in the context of spatial analysis of cultural heritage content. You will conduct applied research together with us and our partners from industry, economy, and academia.

 Your skills:

  • You are studying in a related field such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and are interested in applying your knowledge to new domains
  • You have first experience in software development with Python, Node.js, or Java
  • You are interested in paving the way for the usage of Generative AI and apply it to our self-developed concept “Curatorial Companionship”, which adapts software management techniques for the usage in an art and culture context
  • You can think critically, arguing rationally and are willing to respect team decisions
  • You have good communication skills in English and German and are happy to further develop these skills in a research context

Nice to Have:

  • You have experience in non-technical fields, such as sociology, philosophy, ethnology, …
  • You are interested in contributing to scientific publications.
