Project chain GEL S/E/P develop methods for energy transition
Über sechs Jahre lang erstellten 24 Projektpartner*innen zuerst einen WÄRME-, und dann einen ENERGIEatlas, der bereits in drei Bundesländern eingesetzt wird.
iSPACE project on redensification at the Impact Days in Hallein
At the RENOWAVE.AT Impact Days in Hallein, the Innovation Lab cooperated for the first time with the Alpine Building Network and the SIR - Salzburg Institute for Spatial Planning and Housing. ISPACE researcher Sabine Gadocha gave a presentation on redensification potential in Salzburg and strategies for mobilising it.. The annual events „Brennpunkt Alpines Bauen“ and „Salzburger Wohnbausymposium“ took place this year as part of the Impact Days. Lectures, discussions and workshops [...]
Initiatives for sustainable travel and holidays meet in Zell am See
The Tourism Mobility Day in Zell am See offered networking on possible solutions for sustainable mobility in tourism. Here, 150 experts exchanged views on opportunities and challenges in times of climate change. Dagmar Lahnsteiner from Studio iSPACE and the Ultimob, Airport 4.0, PRIMA and SaMBA projects were also present.
Research in
Research that matters.
We focus on the transfer of knowledge and technology from universities to markets, digital intelligence and future technologies. In six research studios, with research locations in Salzburg, Vienna and Linz, we have been operating as an agile, non-university research organisation since 2002.
WE DO RESEARCH ON…
Applied Spatial Indices
Intelligent building, redensification, living and mobility. Alternatives to the internal combustion engine for climate protection and a better quality of life.Data Analytics
Better forecasting and customer knowledge through predictive analytics, semantic technologies, AI and machine learning techniques.Attention Aware Systems
Competency-based learning and performance enhancement through eye tracking and augmented reality combined with multi-sensor data.Geoinformatics IoT
Better control of industrial processes through 4D geo-intelligence, i.e. spatio-temporal representations for the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0.Smart Energy Balances
Intelligent energy balances for electricity & heat in times of climate change. The contribution to a resource-saving energy supply.Social MicroLearning
New collaborative forms of learning, online and mobile. Granular microlearning, social and open learning as social sharing and dissemination processes.Smart Digital Industries & Services

SAFARI
By analysing innovative data sources - and linking these with conventional data - SAFARI identifies barriers to access to sustainable mobility services, particularly for vulnerable groups in rural regions, and develops appropriate solutions for more inclusive provision and use of these services.
CHAPTCHA
The tech2people and PCA project CHAPTCHA aims to provide individualised, data-driven therapy of the future and to implement clinically relevant assessments in both therapy and home care.
CHAnGE
Mixed reality technologies offer far-reaching opportunities for innovative and immersive services for end users in various areas such as healthcare, training and education as well as entertainment. However, these services rely on large amounts of sensitive, personal data. Currently, there are no mechanisms and general principles available that allow users to effectively take control of their sensitive data without having to opt out of the associated services.
