ESRI EDC „Best Student Award”goes to Caroline Atzl
Every year, the Institute of Geoinformatics (Z_GIS) selects an outstanding student within the framework of an international call for applications. The selection criterion is software development competence. This year’s winner comes from the RSA studio iSPACE: Caroline Atzl receives the “EDC Award” for her master thesis entitled “C&C View – Geo-enhanced COP Communication @ Local Level”.
Civil Protection Management
Together with the studio iSPACE, Caroline Atzl is working on a concept for her master’s thesis, which includes various topics relevant to content and time in the field of disaster management. Starting from a “Common Operational Picture” (COP), the concept of integrated situation picture presentation, Atzl has developed methods and a new user interface with the aim of strengthening the common understanding of local COPs. The prototype developed in the course of this work is available online.
RSA FG: supporting Researchers
Because the economy and science still lack applied researchers in many professional fields, the Research Studios Austria FG offers smart young people and open-minded students exciting career opportunities.
“It is about supporting researchers so that they can develop their skills and work in the best possible environment. It is a great friend when our dedicated employees go their way as successfully as Caroline sets us an example”, said Prof. Dr. Peter Bruck.
