iSPACE and PLUS show how climate-resilient space management can work
The international forum on the anthropocene is an important platform when it comes to sustainable strategies in a world shaped by humans. This year, the forum dedicated itself to the topic of water. iSPACE studio manager and PLUS employee Thomas Prinz traveled to Heiligenblut and presented "Tools for resource-conserving land management with a special focus on green-blue infrastructure".
“BONUS” project awarded prize by TU Vienna for its concept on the use of existing living space in Salzburg
The City of Salzburg's “BONUS” consulting service convinced the jury of the Friedrich Moser Prize of the University of Technology Vienna. The FFG project with iSPACE-Lead is already being continued with the City of Salzburg in “BONANZA”.
RSA FG at the “Long Night of Research” in Salzburg and St. Pölten

Harmless misunderstandings at best, and sexist or racist stereotypes at worst, still come with the use of image-generating AI. A satisfactory result usually requires several "prompts", i.e. instructions. A project team from RSA FG Studio Data-Science, in close collaboration with the Mozarteum University Salzburg, has considered how this process can work more efficiently and sustainably. Their solution: "Curatorial Companionship".
Studio Data Science Phd-candidate joins Austria’s first symposium on AI and robotics
Researcher Alaa El-Ebshihy was part of the first symposium on AI and robotics in Austria "AIRoV" in Innsbruck. The presentation of one of her articles was also on the programme: it deals with the challenges of so-called "scientific knowledge graphs" and possible solutions.
New aquaponics project gives AI not only a brain, but also eyes
The so-called ‘synaesthetic AI’ in a new SDIS project brings together sensor inputs and acquired knowledge in aquaponics and thus facilitates the construction and operation of such systems. However, the approach of combining live data and existing data sets for artificial intelligence can be used in all cyber-physical systems.
Using spaces instead of wasting space with the project Sharing Hubs
Shared forms of mobility, sustainable (re)allocation of space and attractive, inclusive, needs-based access to mobility in residential and business areas are the aim of the iSPACE Sharing Hubs project. Vehicles should be shared in these hubs, while the existing parking spaces are also to be used in more than one way. The spatial decoupling of living/working and parking promotes shared mobility. In addition, these sharing hubs can be equipped with low-cost e-charging infrastructure and supplemented with services such as parcel boxes.
Mixed reality for improved pilot training in the “EmPACT” project
Together with Lufthansa Aviation Training and RotorSky, RSA FG is continuing its work to further improve training for pilots. The use of mixed reality and eye tracking does not only record the behavior of trainees, but also provide them with direct feedback during training.
