UML Development Platform for the Regional Mobility in Salzburg

01.04.2020 – 31.12.2020

The Research Studio iSPACE works on the development and operation of a prototypical development platform as a UML Salzburg service. The development platform for the Urban Mobility Laboratory Salzburg (UML) supports the retrieval, evaluation and download of application-specific geodata or mobility content – with the aim of providing an overview and fast access to and opening up reliable project information on mobility research in Salzburg. The prototypical development platform (Geoportal) thus facilitates the access and the utilization of first data bases of the Salzburg region from the different lighthouse projects and the stop 4.0. The challenge is that for current research and application projects in the context of mobility important data from research and application projects of the stakeholders in Salzburg are difficult to find or to access due to a non-structured or harmonized documentation or their ‘draft’ status – exactly these data are of special value for current research and application projects. On the one hand, documentation and content from Open Research (e.g. previously unpublished scientific research content) as well as project-specific content from reliable sources from the economy, administration and service providers (e.g. opening of documentation and “draft” data to strengthen regional innovation exchange and transfer) should be opened. The standardized documentation of the data sets also leads to a harmonization of the description of data quality. The development platform is aimed at the topic of mobility and thus supports the improved structuring and organization of future-relevant documentation and content relating to Smart City/Mobility and Green City/Mobility, and thus aims to further promote sustainability in the transport sector with regard to the data infrastructure.
