Data protection activist Max Schrems, Google Director and Digi entrepreneurs from all over the world in Vienna

“Digitalisation is showing increasingly problematic sides. Hatred is spreading faster, criminals and reality deniers are networking more globally, the surveillance state is becoming total. As always with technology, the inventors didn’t think so. Socially, we have to deal with it and find solutions in the face of data theft, fake news and lack of knowledge”.

This is what RSA FG Managing Director Peter A. Bruck said in an interview with the “incubator”, Austria’s now best-known news, video and podcast portal for the digital start-up scene. Bruck gave the interview on the occasion of the upcoming World Summit Awards (WSA) Global Congress in Vienna, which will be held from March 9 to 11, 2020, this time focusing on Female Entrepreneurship and the achievement of sustainability goals through the wise use of digital technologies. In addition to his function as managing director and overall scientific director of the RSA FG, Bruck is also chairman and founder of the WSA.

The digital technologies ‘per se’ are ambivalent. They can be abused or used sensibly. This was no different with industrialization and electrification. The World Summit Awards initiative has set itself the goal of awarding prizes for the best meaningful applications of digital technologies worldwide, thus contributing to a positive development of society.
