Research and Transfer Centre

2018 to 2022

The Alpine Building – Research and Transfer Centre acts as a know-how carrier for resource-saving and sustainable building. It offers small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular access to current research results and innovative developments in the construction sector and sustainable settlement development.

The main focus of the centre is on application-oriented transdisciplinary research, the transfer of research results to industry and the initiation of joint research and development projects between industry and science. The research centre is concerned with solutions for intelligent, networked buildings and the simulation of buildings in the settlement context. The focus is on the simulation and implementation of measures in which buildings are understood in the context of their location and the surrounding infrastructure networks.

The centre is a cooperation between the FH Salzburg – Smart Building and the Studio iSPACE of the Research Studios Austria Forschungsgesellschaft mbH and is financed by EFRE funds, funds of the federal state of Salzburg, the FH Salzburg and the Research Studios Austria Forschungsgesellschaft mbH.

Centre of Alpine Building – Research and Transfer Centre: Intelligent building envelopes, intelligent energy systems and simulation of settlement systems

01.04.2018 – 31.12.2022

The centre is concerned with technical solutions for future-oriented and networked
Building. The focus is on the simulation and implementation of measures, for
buildings in the context of their location and the surrounding settlements and
infrastructure networks are considered. The three research priorities “Intelligent
Building envelopes”, “Intelligent energy systems” and “Simulation of settlement systems” of the
centre form an axis between the fields of building services engineering, sustainable
construction and sustainable settlement and neighbourhood development.
In the research area “Simulation of settlement systems” (conducted by iSPACE)
innovative (spatial) simulation models and models for the simulation of the environment are developed using geoinformatics methods
Decision bases for resource-efficient compaction solutions for
sustainable settlement systems.
