Energy City Concepts

In this project new methodical approaches (interdisciplinary energy planning, modelling and simulation) are developed and tested on the basis of two concrete model regions (small town Gleisdorf and urban district Salzburg-Schallmoos).

The two model regions are united by the ambitious political commitment to a 100% renewable or CO2-neutral energy supply. Based on extensive preliminary work in the regions, the interdisciplinary team and the newly developed methodological approaches will work out concrete scenarios and concepts for the implementation of holistic or sustainable energy systems, which will enable an assessment of the above defined achievement of objectives according to technical, ecological and economic criteria. Finally, this should prepare both the concrete implementation processes in the two regions and the transferability.
